Core Wounds, Generalisations and ‘I Will Never…’

What is your ‘I will Never…’?

When we are young, which for most humans holds true for their whole lives, we make the logical error of generalisation – extrapolating from the particular to the general without a valid sample size.

For instance, if our parent/s, didn’t listen to us, then we will think ‘No-one ever listens to me’. If we try and fail to get people to listen, which very often will happen when we already have a belief of ‘No-one listens to me’, then this can become even more entrenched, to the point of becoming a stronger belief that ‘I will never be listened to.’ One particular client had crystallised their belief in exactly that way.

When a belief then becomes such an axiom of our world, that it becomes a ‘Never…’; it is a belief we won’t even try to overcome.

Why do we incarnate into experiences which present such blocks? That is the topic for another post, but, knowing that our blocks show up in this precise way, offers an incredible tool to unlock our greatest potential, because on the other side of such a belief lays the fulfilment of our life purpose.

If we have a core identity, and purpose, then in order for us NOT to realise that purpose, there must be a corresponding block.

In my own life, a belief of ‘I will never be understood’ was unravelled through a dream I had in response to a challenging relationship. In my dream, I was explaining to a classroom of people the fact that every person had an ‘I will never…’ which corresponded to their core wound.

With the help of my dream in seeing through this pattern, I am now able to share my insights in a way which actually does create understanding between myself and others.

For my client in the example above, the outcome of transitioning the blocking belief of ‘I will never be listened to’ into a belief of ‘I always listen to myself’ created an unblocking of life force energy, to make life worth carrying on, and also to create the music which is their passion and purpose, without the block and sense of futility of expecting it won’t be listened to.

The methods for uncovering and unwinding these blocks are evolving with each session, and as patterns become apparent and techniques for doing so evolve, I look forward to sharing these here.

For now, the work is a combination of intuition, inspiration and magic. I do hope to journey with you in your unlocking.
